VOS3000 Prefix Settings, Rate Prefix, Area Prefix, Client/Vendor Prefix settings in VOS3000 Server in easy ways.

Hello all,

Many client become confused in prefix settings in VOS3000. Old vos3000 2.1.1.5, 2.1.2.0 and 2.1.2.4 there was only Area Prefix Options, where normally client used prefix plus country code together and they can able to write Area Details (Country Name or Description Manually). But Newer version its added one extra part which is rate prefix and you can’t edit area details – you have to do it from number management. Its because of A2Z route business.

So keep this in simple way use only Area Prefix, i always asked client to forget your vendor/provider prefix. In vos3000 settings everywhere use or remember only your prefix which you want to give clients or your own prefix only. So in rate management for both clients rate and vendor rate you have to use your own prefix. Also same way when you make routing gateway “GW Prefix” will be also your prefix, priority as per you want.

Now only one place you have to use vendor prefix is in Routing GW as per below image:

Initial Prefix : Your prefix which you set everywhere

Destinations Prefix : only this place you have to set vendor prefix.

Illegal Call in VOS3000 Server! How to stop Illegal call, is it important?

Hello,

Sometime we see Illegal Call in VOS3000 server CDR as termination reason. Actually illegal calls can be shown for few reason. If your clients ip not added and send calls at your server or you added wrong ip in mapping gateway or any previous users used this ip for voip purpose and his client still sending calls in this ip or some small retail hacker group try to login at your server by using some common pin number as sip user.

The thing is none of those call will be connected, so there is nothing to get worry! But yes, you can stop recording it – it will be recored in vos3000 cdr via mysql(do not copy our content, its written by multahost). So its important also to stop keeping record to keep server mysql data little more shorter.

Here i am attaching some screenshot where you can stop this illegal calls recording in vos3000 server.

1. Go to “Operation Management” then “Softswitch Management” and edit.

2. Go to System Parameter options and you will see options for “Record Illegal calls” – there you can see “On/Off”. Click and make it “off” , please do not make any major changes here without knowing that.

3. See the closer look for it. you will see Illegal Call in VOS3000 record option and you can turn it off

VOS3000 Server SSH port Change Easy Commands!

Hello,

Due to security issue many people need to change ssh default ports. Non only for voip hacking issues, there are lots of spammer scan linux server ssh ports, so its good if you keep it changed to different ports. So i am sharing how you can change it easily.

Login to your vos3000 server at centos:

I am giving command serially:

# vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Or

# nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Some people like default editor “vi” is by default work for all linux. Some people like “nano” editor, so both command i shared earlier. Now you will see below image at your vos3000 server

Here you can see default vos3000 server port is 22. You just simply write “port” and space then your desired ports. In image you can see we used ports 34627. Then save it by using default commands of your editor. For “vi” command to write anything you need to press “i” then you can change anything and then “Esc” to complete and save command is :q!” and enter.

For nano simply you can change and after change you can save by “cntrl+x” and then “y” and enter.

After that for Centos 5.x and Centos 6.x server you need to use below command for restart the ssh service.

# service sshd restart

And for Centos 7.x server command is:

# systemctl restart ssh

VOS3000 2.1.1.5, 2.1.2.0, 2.1.2.4 mostly works in centos 5.x . VOS3000 2.1.2.4 can works in centos 6.x also but emp will not work properly and voice issue will be there. Newer VOS3000 2.1.4.0 or VOS3000 2.1.6.0 works in centos 6.x newer versions also. For compatibility of VOS3000 installation in linux server and which centos required for which version you can see my other post where i mentioned kernel version where emp matched easily. Also you can downgrade or upgrade kernel easily. Will post later about this. Keep tuned in our blog for it.

We also recommend ssh blocking by ip authentication based firewall. So it will be more secured for vos3000 server hacking which is common now a days.

VOS3000 License Version Price! Licensed VOS3000 Price details.

Hello all,

First of all please note Licensed versions are not available in hosted mode/rental anywhere. (Except anybody invest high and do it but nobody done this ever).

VOS3000 license version must be the latest, there is no way you can buy old version license. Now VOS3000 2.1.7.01 (june,2019) is the last version VOS3000 company released. And this one is selling by only Kunshi.

Price range for VOS3000 License version is 10-16k usd for 5000 concurrent calls. It depends your payment schedule. You can pay by installment, maximum 6 months time they allow and they will give short license.

So all depends on your bargain power , they charge 1-2k usd for yearly support and renewal fees. If you do not need upgrade then you will not need anymore.

Their support is not good at all but their system is very much solid.

So, Actually who ever claim they are providing licensed version/they can give hosted license versions for vos3000 are mainly telling lie.

Hosted all vos3000 are non licensed but works good if that is upgraded one and your vendor is technically sound. VOS3000 License price is always expensive and major issue is VOS3000 License vendor from china and they do not provide easy online supports.

If you can afford original VOS3000 License then obviously you must buy original version, non licensed only for people who cant afford higher prices you can get VOS3000 License version only from china else many people can claim their version is official but those are not true at all.

VOS3000 2.1.2.4 to 2.1.6.0 Prices are from 500-700 USD, for non licensed but its depends on vendors capability and quality. Because you are buying non licensed actually you are paying only for service. So avoid people who work from home and not technically sound. Installing vos3000 is easy but troubleshoot are not easy!

VOS3000 Dialer call test, No Voice! One way audio! VOS3000 pin call no audio!

Hello all,

Many of our client ask and face this issue. Actually the main issue is (if you dont have any blockage issue in your country ) vos3000 softswitch emp service. Normaly VOS3000 older versions like 2.1.1.5, 2.1.2.0 or 2.1.2.4 works mainly Centos 5.X – 32 bit. But most of datacenter not support this versions anymore, so what people do they simply install at centos 6.x – 32 bit. But when they installed emp it gives one error. Which is basically that emp not supporting centos 6.x kernel. And in that case when you will do pin call test there will be no audio as emp is the main softswitch engine of VOS3000 which communicate with MBX.

In this case you need to downgrade in working kernel for VOS3000. Please remember media proxy will have same no audio in vos3000 if this emp-kernel mismatch happen.

We would suggest to use upgraded version for VOS3000 to avoid all kind issues.
