Advanced Routing, LCR & Profit Control in VOS3000 – Real Examples & Settings 2026
Running a profitable VoIP business with VOS3000 requires precise control over call routing. The built-in Least Cost Routing (LCR), prefix manipulation, time-based routing, and profit margin protection features let you automatically select the cheapest, highest-quality routes while protecting your margins.
This complete guide is based 100% on the official VOS3000 2.1.9.07 English Manual (pages 217–252). Every menu path, parameter name, table, and example is taken directly from the manual so you get accurate, real-world instructions.

VOS3000 uses the longest prefix match rule. When a call arrives, the system first checks the Dial Plan for the most specific prefix before falling back to shorter ones. (Official Manual, Page 219: “When multiple Dial Plans exist, the longest matching pattern will be selected.”), Advanced Routing is important always.
The Dial Plan is the foundation of advanced routing. You can add, remove, or replace digits using wildcards and escape characters.
Menu Path: Navigation → Dial Plan (or inside Routing Gateway → Additional Settings)
| Original Prefix | Target Prefix | Action | Example Number | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | Keep as is | 02584316146 | 02584316146 |
| 025 | (empty) | Remove prefix | 02584316146 | 84316146 |
| * | 12345678 | Replace all | 02584316146 | 12345678 |
| 0??84 | 8431 | Pattern replace | 02584316146 | 84316146 |
| 13/L9 | 13 | Limit length | 13812345678 | 13812345678 (only if 11 digits) |
Escape characters explained (Manual Page 219): /L# = shorter than # digits, /E# = exactly # digits, /G# = longer than # digits.
In Routing Gateway → Additional Settings → Mapping Prefix you can add prefixes to the callee number and combine with callee dial plan rules.
Example: Add “99” prefix to all international calls for billing identification (SERVER_BILLING_GATEWAY_ROUTE_PREFIX parameter).
LCR automatically chooses the cheapest gateway by comparing rate per second.
Menu Path: Navigation → Operation Management → Gateway Operation → Routing Gateway
Key parameters you must set:
System parameters (Navigation → Softswitch Management → Additional Settings → System Parameter):
VOS3000 calculates profit as: Billing Rate (Rate Group) minus Clearing Rate (gateway clearing account).
Key Setting: Lowest Profit Rate Limit (in Routing Gateway)
If profit falls below this value, the gateway is locked automatically. Advanced Routing
| Call Type | Billing Rate (per min) | Clearing Rate (per min) | Profit | Action if Lowest Profit Limit = 0.003 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BD Mobile | $0.018 | $0.014 | $0.004 | Route allowed |
| UK Landline | $0.009 | $0.0075 | $0.0015 | Route locked |
You can also set Max Minute Rates to block expensive gateways instantly.
Perfect for routing cheap routes only during off-peak hours.
Menu Path: Routing Gateway → Additional Settings → Period Control
Four sub-sections:
Rate Groups define how you bill your customers. Clearing Accounts define what you pay your suppliers.
Menu Path for Rate Groups: Navigation → Rate Management → Rate Group Management
Inside Rate Management you set:
Enable “Calculate routing quality in real time” so the system automatically switches to backup routes when ASR or ACD drops.
Monitor everything in Business Analysis → Routing Analysis.
